Civilization VII will show its gameplay later this month

Sid Meier's Civilization is probably the most popular turn-based strategy series of all time. Even though each fan of the genre has its favourite game, Civilization VI surpassed all others in terms of innovations, historical accuracy, and varied gameplay mechanics. However, developer Firaxis Games surprises the fans with every new installment and the recent announcement of Civilization VII, which was revealed via a teaser video about a month ago, left a huge fan base waiting to know more. Well, it seems we will not have to wait much longer, because the first video showing Civilization VII gameplay will be released soon.

Firaxis is preparing a Civilization VII gameplay showcase that will take place on August 20 right after the Opening Live of the Gamescom. The studio will show 20 minutes of gameplay footage revealing many of the novelties that the new game will bring to the popular franchise.

Will Civilization VII feature new leaders, new gameplay mechanics, or changes to the combat system? What kind of exciting novelties will the game include? Is Firaxis reworking the graphics with a new style? All those questions and more will find an answer very soon. Also, the studio promises to reveal even more information about the game with a developer panel on PAX West. We would also love to hear about an official release date, but even if the game is not released this year, it's great to know that the Civilization series will be back with a new installment.
