When Does MW4 Season 1 Come Out? Date, Times & Warzone Integration

The latest installment in the Call of Duty series was released a few days ago and it has made quite a positive impression among the fans of the series. The upcoming launch of Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will make things even more exciting as it brings the first Battle Pass, the Warzone integration, and the end of Warzone on last-gen consoles. Here is everything confirmed about the start date, the expected times, and the content — as of October 28, 2026.

When does MW4 Season 1 come out?

The direct answer: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 starts on Friday, November 6, 2026, for both Modern Warfare 4 and the free-to-play experience Call of Duty: Warzone. Activision confirmed the date in the "The Road Ahead Starts With Early Access" roadmap (@CallofDuty on X, October 14, 2026), whose Season 1 panel simply reads "Season 1 — November 6 — MW4 | Warzone".

That puts Season 1 just 14 days after the game's October 23 launch. This is the shortest launch-to-Season-1 gap in recent Call of Duty history, which confirms that Activision is quite interested in taking advantage of the hype for the launch by keeping players occupied with additional content. MW4 Season 1 start time by region (expected)

Activision has not published an official start hour yet — as of October 28, 2026. Recent seasons went live at 9:00 AM PT (Black Ops 7 Season 06 launched at that time on September 17, 2026), so treat the table below as an expectation until the official schedule lands:

Warzone integrates MW4 content in Season 1: Hajin and Zodiac

The arrival of Season 1 also marks the day Call of Duty: Warzone moves onto Modern Warfare 4. According to Activision's wording: "Beginning in Season 1, Call of Duty: Warzone will integrate Modern Warfare 4 content and seasonal progression as part of a connected experience between both titles."

Two new Warzone maps arrive with the integration:

• Hajin — the new large-scale Battle Royale map. It is the same map MW4 players already know from MW4's DMZ mode, now running on battle royale rules. Verdansk remains available as the second big map.
• Zodiac — the new Resurgence map built by Beenox. It was playable during Open Beta Weekend 2 (August 28 – September 1, 2026) and has since received visibility improvements: adjusted interior lighting, clearer landmarks, and reduced visual clutter. Rebirth Island remains the other Resurgence map.

Vondel is coming back too, but not on November 6 — it will return in Season 2.

On the carry-forward side: Operators, Operator skins and Weapon Blueprints from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 will stay usable after the integration, and every legacy weapon gets a five-attachment version that is unlockable through the Armory. Legacy weapon camos will not be available, and a new skin toggle (off by default) lets you display other players' non-MW4 Operators as MW4 Operators on your screen only. Warzone remains free-to-play — you don't need to own MW4 to drop into Hajin.

Warzone leaves PS4 and Xbox One on November 6

Season 1 is also the end of the line for Warzone on last-gen consoles. The official platform timeline:

• June 4, 2026 — Warzone was removed from the PS4 and Xbox One storefronts (no new downloads)
• June 25, 2026 — the in-game store was removed on both platforms
• November 6, 2026 — Warzone will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Modern Warfare 4 itself never launched on last-gen. Progression and purchases carry to a current-gen console or PC on the same Activision account, but COD Points only move within the same console family.

Season 1 Battle Pass and Vault Edition BlackCell

The first Modern Warfare 4 Battle Pass launches with Season 1. Vault Edition owners get their BlackCell content at the same time: one season of BlackCell (Battle Pass access plus exclusive content), 1,100 COD Points and 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips, granted in-game once Season 1 is available — as detailed on the official Bonus Content page. Redemption applies to one season of the MW4 Battle Pass only.

What's still unannounced

As of October 28, 2026, Activision has not detailed Season 1's new multiplayer maps, weapons, events, or the exact start hour. The official Season 1 blog usually drops a few days before launch — we'll update this article when it does.
