10 new games to check out in dLcompare’s latest recap video

This week has been a busy one for video game fans with the Gamescom 2026 in full swing. The list of announcements and reveals is long and exciting, but the world kept moving outside of the event, and there's been several games worthy of mention as they have caught the eye of a sizeable number of players for one reason or another. The gaming calendar has once again decided that consistency is overrated. One minute you're dodging bullets on a World War I battlefield, the next you're fighting zombies, building an island life or simply trying to catch a fish. dLcompare's latest recap video embraces that delightful chaos, bringing together a collection of recently released games that couldn't be more different from one another.

Our highlights of the week

The journey begins with Gallipoli, a multiplayer military simulator that takes players back to one of the defining campaigns of World War I. It's a suitably serious way to kick off a recap that will eventually wander into much stranger territory.

It's basically the gaming equivalent of taking a deep breath after spending several minutes being chased by the undead.

Strategy enthusiasts aren't forgotten either, with Shao Song I joining the lineup. The game brings a more tactical flavor to the recap, giving players plenty of opportunities to put their planning skills to work.

Then comes Mortal Shell II, which takes the mood in the opposite direction. The dark-fantasy action RPG continues the series' challenging soulslike formula, throwing players into a dangerous world where poor decisions tend to be followed by very nasty and immediate consequences, especially if evading deadly attacks is not your best skill.

And then, because apparently this recap wasn't already varied enough, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta enters the picture. The event allowed players to test the latest chapter in Activision's blockbuster shooter franchise and experience its multiplayer action ahead of the full release. Is the new CoD worth it? We will still have to wait for a while to find out the answer, but it definitely looks good so far.

Finally, the recap brings things down to earth with How to Fish. After battling soldiers, zombies and dark-fantasy monstrosities, sometimes all you really need is a fishing rod and a quiet place to stare at the water. However, this game isn't really about that. It offers a chaotic and exciting approach at the art of fishing that includes shooting your captures with guns to kill them. It's hilariously fun and absurd.
