Civilization VII's roadmap for 2025 revealed right before it's released
Firaxis Games has put a lot of effort into explaining every novelty that Civilization VII will incorporate into the series. With only a few days left until the game is released - even fewer for those who have purchased the Founders or Deluxe Edition of the game - the hype for the game is quite high. Most reviews of the game agree that it will be one of the best installments in the popular series, but there are some concerns about the possibility of exploiting the new feature that allows you to choose bonuses from different civilizations to create your own custom experience. In any case, this won't necessarily have a negative impact on the game, at least not in the single-player experience it offers. We will have to wait to see if Firaxis does something to prevent this from happening, but so far the game offers a polished experience on all fronts.
Post-launch content
The developer studio has gone a step further to inform players and it has already revealed the post-launch roadmap for Civilization VII. The upcoming content includes free updates and paid DLC that will incorporate new features, civilizations, leaders, wonders, and more to the game. The additional content coming to the game is split into three categories:
- Content Collections: Paid content (such as Crossroads of the World*) where we release new leaders, civs, and Wonders over the course of a few months.
- Free Updates: Improvements elevating our game in a wide variety of areas, available for free to all players.
- Events & Challenges: Month-long activities available to all players that allow you to experiment with new gameplay ideas, similar to those that the Civ VI community enjoyed throughout 2024
Beyond the paid content, free updates will focus on enhancing gameplay and user interface as needed with the help of player feedback but also expand multiplayer with ned features that couldn't be added in time for launch. New in-game events and the release of modding tools will spice up the experience further down the road.

With all these additions in mind, all that is left for you is to decide which edition of Civilization VII to purchase if you haven't done it already. Feel free to use our comparator to get your Sid Meier's Civilization VII digital download code at the best price if you want to be ready for the upcoming release.
