Assassin's Creed Shadows presents its canon mode
Assassin's Creed Shadows promises to be quite different from its predecessors in many ways but the most significant difference is that it will have two protagonists. By switching between Yasuke and Naoe during gameplay, players will have different ways to tackle combat encounters but also access to the story from two unique points of view. While Yasuke is a samurai, Naoe is a shinobi, which offers them two distinct combat styles. Also, their way of interacting with the surrounding world also differs from each other, and this is reflected by their choices during dialogues. However, Canon Mode appears as a new option for those looking for a different type of experience in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Predetermined path
The Canon Mode was announced a while ago, and now Ubisoft has reminded the fans about it in a publication via X. The post includes a video showcasing how it works. The Canon Mode will feature narrative-locked dialogues preventing players from choosing their own path with their answers. However, this option still allows you to enjoy an exciting adventure, even though your path through it will be predetermined. It's a more straightforward approach to the game's story that follows a specific trail to reach to the end of the journey, which is perfect for those players who prefer not to decide for themselves. Of course, you can always play the game in Canon Mode after you have finished the game following your own path, just to find out what's the difference.
