After a long wait filled with multiple delays, it seems that the launch day for Assassin's Creed Shadows is finally set. Ubisoft has recently revealed the PC system requirements for the game. With the underwhelming performance of several recent projects—especially Star Wars Outlaws—expectations for Assassin's Creed Shadows have been sky-high. However, the game has also faced significant controversy. The latest delay has pushed its release to March 20, giving Ubisoft an additional two months to polish the game.
Alongside a new trailer, Ubisoft has also unveiled details about the game's first expansion.
"Discover the upcoming expansion of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Travel to a new, distinctive region—the island of Awaji—a place of mysterious beauty. Reclaim a lost treasure while avoiding the traps and ambushes of deadly new foes. Feel the tension of being hunted by a new faction, threatening the mysterious island of Awaji."
Ubisoft has provided extensive details on its official website regarding Assassin's Creed Shadows' first major expansion, titled Claws of Awaji. Players, as either Naoe or Yasuke, will venture to the enigmatic island of Awaji beyond Osaka Bay, where they will be relentlessly hunted by a deadly new faction, the Sanzoku Ippa.
The expansion will introduce a brand-new weapon for Naoe—the Bō staff—promising fresh combat possibilities. Ubisoft has assured fans that the expansion will offer over 10 hours of additional content, packed with thrilling new challenges and lore to explore.
It has also been confirmed that the expansion is being developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio behind Assassin's Creed Mirage. However, an exact release date for the DLC has yet to be announced.
The good news is that players who pre-order Assassin's Creed Shadows before its launch will receive the expansion as a free bonus, making it an enticing offer for fans.
