Final Fantasy XIV keeps growing ahead of the launch of Endwalker

It's well known that Final Fantasy XIV has surpassed World of Warcraft, and it's now the preferred MMORPG of a majority of players worldwide. Activision Blizzard's legal problems and many players dissatisfied with the current state of the Shadowlands expansion have led to a massive number of players abandoning Azeroth in search of a new experience. Many of them have found it in Final Fantasy XIV, including several popular streamers who have dragged a good number of players with them. Both games offer completely different gameplay experiences, but it seems that Final Fantasy XIV has the upper hand in their particular competition, as the margin it has over World of Warcraft keeps increasing steadily, and it seems unaffected by the recent launch of New World

Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida has confirmed that tendency by revealing that Square Enix's MMORPG has surpassed the 24 million players. With the launch of the Endwalker expansion getting closer day by day, that number is bound to keep growing. Meanwhile, Blizzard has brought back content from the Legion expansion, which seems to be the favorite of World of Warcraft players, in order to keep them happy, and there are rumors of a new expansion already. It's pretty evident that the availability of Final Fantasy XIV on PlayStation consoles allows it to appeal to a bigger number of players, but the experience it offers is exciting enough for those that try the game to stay too, and that's the key to its success.
