Borderlands 4 launches without cross-save, updates coming soon

Gearbox Software has confirmed in a post on Steam that Borderlands 4 will be missing a couple of key features when it launches this fall. Cross-save and cross-progression—two of the most requested options in modern multiplayer games—won’t be available at release on September 12, 2025. This means players won’t be able to carry progress or saves across different platforms right away.
