Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed

Announced at Sony's Playstation 5 launch event in June 2020, Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most anticipated games on the next-generation console. Although it will also be available on Playstation 4, it was the footage of the game running on Playstation 5 that blew gamers away, creating a huge expectation for a game that it seems to need longer than we expected to arrive.

Indeed, Horizon Forbidden West was originally scheduled for release in 2021, but it joins a long list of games that have seen their launch delayed. Those hoping to find the sequel to Aloy's adventures under their Christmas tree will be disappointed without any doubt, but it looks like it will be delayed just a few months. The fact that the game didn't have a precise release date during June was already a cause for concern, but a more than credible rumor has emerged just a few days ago, claiming that the release of Horizon Forbidden West has been shifted to the first quarter of 2022. This rumor came from none other than Jeff Grubb, and has been subsequently corroborated by Jason Schreier.

Even though the information comes from two very reliable sources, it's worth mentioning that neither Sony nor Guerilla Games have said anything about it yet, but it should only be a matter of time before Horizon Forbidden West's postponement becomes official.

In the meantime, you can still dive back into Aloy's adventures with the first installment, Horizon Zero Dawn, which is available on PlayStation 4 and PC.
