IO Interactive has officially unveiled the PC system requirements for 007: First Light, giving players a clearer picture of the hardware they’ll need when a young James Bond makes his debut next year. The specs reveal an interesting split: while the game is surprisingly forgiving at the low end, the recommended setup is more demanding than its 1080p/60fps target might suggest.

On the minimum side, 007: First Light appears accessible to a wide range of players. Targeting 1080p at 30fps, the game calls for an Intel Core i5-9500K or Ryzen 5 3500 paired with a GTX 1660 or RX 5700—GPUs many players may already have in their rigs. Storage requirements are also reasonable at 80GB, and notably, there’s no SSD requirement. However, the 8GB VRAM minimum immediately rules out older mid-tier cards like the RTX 2060, which may come as a surprise to some fans.
Things change significantly with the recommended configuration. IO Interactive lists an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT—both strong 1080p GPUs—but claims these are required alongside 32GB of system RAM and 12GB of VRAM to achieve 1080p at 60fps. This unusually high memory requirement has sparked discussion, particularly since the RTX 3060 Ti ships with only 8GB of VRAM. The absence of any 4K or ultra-settings specifications adds further uncertainty, suggesting the team may still be tuning performance or relying heavily on upscaling technologies.
Part of this setup stems from IO’s collaboration with Nvidia, with 007: First Light supporting DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation to boost performance. The studio says these tools help deliver an experience worthy of the Bond franchise, but the reliance on cutting-edge upscaling may hint at how demanding the Glacier engine remains, especially given its history with Hitman.
Beyond the technical details, 007: First Light tells the story of a 26-year-old Bond earning his 00 status through espionage, globetrotting missions, and high-speed action. After its delay, the game is now scheduled to launch on May 27, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
