007: First Light rolls out its biggest update yet
The ink on MI6's latest mission report is barely dry, but 007: First Light is already expanding its dossier. IO Interactive has deployed the game's first major post-launch update, giving aspiring secret agents a fresh batch of high-risk assignments, new hardware to unlock, a sharp new outfit, and a sweeping round of fixes that smooth out the experience from start to finish.
Available now on all platforms, Update 1.1.0 marks the opening chapter of the game's Year One support plan. The patch gives players new reasons to return to the field, whether they're chasing higher TacSim rankings or looking for more ways to approach each mission.
New missions and more
The stars of the update are two brand-new TacSim Escalations: The Workshop and Extraction Avenues. As expected, these aren't straightforward reruns of existing missions. Each escalation unfolds across three increasingly demanding stages, introducing new objectives, stricter conditions, and fresh twists that force players to rethink their tactics. To complete these missions successfully, players will need precise timing, stealth, and improvisation.
No Bond adventure is complete without a few new toys, and IO Interactive has also expanded the armory with three additional weapons. Agents can unlock the hard-hitting Stormberg .50 Cal pistol, the compact DRX-2 Machine Pistol, and the suppressed DRS-7 SMG, offering new options for players who prefer loud entrances, silent exits, or something in between. Completing the new content also unlocks the stylish Diamond in the Rough outfit, proving that even rookie spies can dress like seasoned professionals.
Behind the scenes, however, the biggest story may be what players won't notice anymore. Update 1.1.0 squashes more than 200 bugs across the game, touching everything from mission scripting and AI behavior to user interface quirks, animation glitches, visual polish, stability, and overall performance. It's the kind of update designed to make every operation feel just a little smoother—even if your cover gets blown halfway through.
Console players should also keep an eye on their storage space. PlayStation 5 users are downloading a considerably larger package, with the update weighing in at around 24 GB, while the PC, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Store, and Epic Games Store versions come in at under 4 GB, despite containing the same gameplay additions.
IO Interactive has also made it clear that this is only the first stop on Bond's post-launch journey. The studio says more content is already in active development as part of the Year One roadmap, which promises a steady stream of new TacSim missions, gameplay additions, rewards, and quality-of-life improvements over the months ahead.
For players who have already wrapped up Bond's first adventure, Update 1.1.0 offers a compelling excuse to return to the field. The gadgets are shinier, the challenges are tougher, and MI6 clearly isn't finished handing out assignments anytime soon. After all, a spy's work is never truly done.
