Why 007 First Light has Bond fans so excited
It has been a very long time since a James Bond game truly felt like a big event, but 007 First Light is starting to look like the closest thing we’ve had to another GoldenEye moment. Ever since the first gameplay details and previews dropped, players have been talking about the same thing: this does not feel like a cheap movie tie-in or a scripted shooter with a Bond skin on top. The game takes players across several locations including Iceland, Malta, and London, with missions involving MI6 training, high-end parties, espionage operations, and dangerous international targets. From what has been shown so far, the locations look detailed and full of life, with a strong focus on exploration and replayability rather than simply moving from one linear mission to another.
A perfect mix between Hitman and Uncharted
What really stands out though is the overall vibe of the game. Some moments look straight out of Uncharted with big cinematic sequences, rooftop chases, collapsing environments, and flashy action scenes, while other parts slow things down and let you play more strategically like Hitman. That combination could end up being exactly what Bond games needed all along.
