No Man’s Sky Marks 10 Years With “Our Journey Continues”

No Man’s Sky Celebrates 10 Years With "Our Journey Continues"
Events

After COSMOS 7.0 continued to expand space with a wide range of major changes, Hello Games is now taking No Man’s Sky back through its own history with a special Expedition called "Our Journey Continues." Part of the celebrations marking 10 years since the game first launched, this event goes beyond simply offering new rewards or another limited-time activity. Instead, Hello Games has turned an entire decade of development into a journey that players can experience for themselves.

10 years of No Man’s Sky return in a new journey

The core idea behind Our Journey Continues is to make the development history of No Man’s Sky part of the gameplay itself. Each milestone in the Expedition represents a point from more than 40 major updates released over the years, with challenges built around the features and mechanics those updates originally introduced.

Hello Games describes the Expedition almost like a “museum” of No Man’s Sky and its evolution. Rather than simply reading about everything that has changed over the past decade, players will revisit the mechanics and ideas that helped shape the game during different stages of its life. For Travellers who have been around since the early days, it also offers a chance to encounter familiar details from different parts of their own journey once again.

The nostalgic theme goes even further through developer commentary tied to the milestones. Hello Games uses these moments to share stories, memories and behind-the-scenes perspectives from the development process, while also bringing back elements from older versions of the game and hiding Easter Eggs for long-time players to discover. Some of the commentary unlocked during the Expedition will also remain available through Collected Knowledge, allowing these stories to live on even after the event comes to an end.

The rewards in Our Journey Continues follow the same idea. The Golden Rasamama S36 brings back the starter ship associated with the original launch version, while the Vintage Sentinel Interceptor and Diplodocus Companion have been reconstructed from models seen in pre-release footage. The Starbound v0.27 Multi-Tool takes inspiration from early concept art, while a set of nine artworks for player bases draws from the cover art of major updates throughout the game's history. Rather than feeling like simple rewards for completing objectives, these items act as pieces of No Man’s Sky history, bringing back reminders of the many different stages the game went through before reaching its current form.

Our Journey Continues will run for approximately six weeks. Players can begin the Expedition through the Expedition Terminus aboard the Space Anomaly or start with a fresh save, which can later be converted into a Normal Mode save. Exclusive rewards unlocked during the Expedition can also be redeemed across other save games.

A decade after launch, Hello Games says No Man’s Sky has now received 41 named updates, while tens of millions of Travellers have spent hundreds of millions of hours exploring its universe. From the original 2016 release to COSMOS 7.0 today, every update has added another piece to the ever-growing world that Hello Games continues to build. That makes Our Journey Continues more than just another Expedition. It also feels like a brief moment for both the developers and the community to look back at the road travelled over the past 10 years before No Man’s Sky once again moves forward. The name “Our Journey Continues” feels especially fitting here: the journey has already lasted an entire decade, but Hello Games clearly has no intention of bringing it to an end just yet.
