Xeno Arena update adds creature battles to No Man’s Sky
No Man’s Sky just got another big update, and this one feels a bit different. The Xeno Arena update adds a new system focused on creatures, turning them into something much more than just background life or simple companions. Instead of only scanning or taming animals for fun, you now have a real reason to care about what you find on each planet.
At the center of the update is the new creature battle system. You can take the pets you’ve collected and train them, then use them in turn-based fights. Each creature comes with its own abilities, strengths, and traits depending on where it comes from. Some might be better at attacking, others at defending or supporting, so building a balanced team actually matters.
This changes exploration in a big way. Before, finding a strange creature was mostly about looks or curiosity. Now, it’s also about potential. You might land on a planet and discover a creature that has rare abilities or fits perfectly into your team. It gives players a new reason to explore different biomes and planets, always looking for that one unique companion that can make a difference in battle.
A new way to play and compete
The update also introduces the Xeno Arena itself, where all these creatures can be put to the test. You can fight against AI opponents, take on daily challenges, or even go up against other players. There’s also a progression system with ranks, rewards, and special upgrades for your creatures, so the more you play, the stronger your team becomes.
What’s impressive is how much content keeps coming to No Man’s Sky. Not long ago we had the Remnant update, and now we’re already getting something completely new. It’s a reminder of how Hello Games keeps supporting the game years after release, constantly adding systems that give players new ways to enjoy it.
If you’ve been thinking about jumping in or coming back, this might be a good time. And if you do, don’t forget to use our price comparison tool to find the best deals for No Man’s Sky and start building your own creature team without overpaying.
