For Honor re-runs a throwback Prince of Persia event

The For Honor x Prince of Persia crossover event, titled Blades of Persia, was a limited-time event that ran from March 12 to April 2, 2020. This collaboration introduced a rich blend of Prince of Persia themes into For Honor, offering players new game modes, cosmetics, and challenges. In 2025, the Blade of Persia event will return to For Honor starting on April 24th, 2025.

The event was structured into two chapters, each bringing unique gameplay experiences:​ For chapter 1:Ruler of Time, the stage was set on a transformed Harbor map, where players engaged in Dominion matches and the Prince would periodically appear from a sandstorm to challenge both teams. He wielded the Dagger of Time, granting him abilities like time reversal, teleportation, and summoning sand traps, and defeating him awarded teams with additional points. ​ For chapter 2: Wraith of Time, the Prince embraced his darker persona, becoming the Dark Prince. This chapter introduced new challenges and further altered the gameplay dynamics. ​

The Blades of Persia event was celebrated for its seamless integration of Prince of Persia elements into For Honor, offering both nostalgia and fresh content. Blades of Persia still remains a standout example of successful cross-franchise collaboration even after the previous conclusion in 2020. However, new players as well as veteran players of For Honor will participate in this event again after April 24th,2025. 

What's new in the 2025 Blades of Persia event?

A significant addition is the introduction of the Warrior Prince hero skin for the Aramusha class. This skin allows players to embody the Prince of Persia, complete with his iconic attire and weaponry. ​The event features a refreshed Event Pass with 30 tiers of Prince of Persia-themed rewards. Players can unlock new battle outfits, ornaments, emotes, and other cosmetic items inspired by the Prince of Persia universe.​

While the core game modes from the original 2020 event, such as Ruler of Time and Wraith of Time, make a return, they come with updated mechanics and visuals. The transformed Harbor map now includes new environmental hazards and Easter eggs that pay homage to the Prince of Persia series. Players can acquire 26 new weapons inspired by Persian designs. Additionally, two illustrious outfits—Ratash and Sandwraith—are available for purchase, each referencing significant characters from the Prince of Persia franchise.
