Cyberpunk 2077 brings full Mac support and updated system specs
Just weeks after a surge in Cyberpunk 2077’s player count following the Edgerunners Season 2 announcement, CD Projekt Red is giving even more players a reason to jack back into Night City—this time on Mac. The studio has officially revealed full Mac support for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, along with detailed system requirements across four performance tiers.
Cyberpunk 2077 Mac System Requirements

All configurations require macOS 15.5 or later, with 92GB of storage if downloaded via GOG, Epic, or Steam—or 159GB from the Mac App Store, which includes all voiceovers by default. Depending on your Mac’s specs, the game will automatically assign the best settings using a new “For This Mac” graphics preset, designed to balance visual fidelity and performance.
At a minimum, players with an M1 chip and 16GB RAM can expect 1440x900 or 1600x900 resolution at 30 FPS. Recommended specs jump to an M3 Pro chip with 18GB RAM, running at 1920x1080 and targeting 60 FPS. Those with high-end machines like the M2 Ultra or M3/M4 Max chips and 36GB RAM can enjoy higher resolutions—up to 2560x1440—while maintaining smooth 60 FPS gameplay.
Interestingly, ray tracing is disabled in the default preset, regardless of hardware, to ensure a more optimized experience. For those using external monitors, CDPR recommends sticking with the auto-assigned resolution for the best balance between visuals and performance.
This news arrives as Cyberpunk 2077 continues its unlikely second wind. In early July, the game peaked at over 66,000 concurrent Steam players, more than doubling its usual count—driven largely by the buzz around the Edgerunners sequel and anticipation for Update 2.3. Whether you’re a veteran netrunner or a first-time visitor to Night City, now’s the perfect time to jump in.
