Phantom Liberty changes the system requirements for Cyberpunk 2077
The upcoming arrival of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will completely change CD Projekt Red's latest RPG adventure. The expansion not only will bring plenty of novelties and different ways to play the game with new specialization trees and more, but it will also be preceded by a huge patch that is adding new features available to all Cyberpunk 2077 players today.
Only available with SSD on PC
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will not be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 because the older consoles are not capable of keeping up with the graphics improvements that the expansion brings to the game. In fact, the release of the update 2.0 that precedes the expansion is also changing the minimum requirements to play the game on PC. The most significant of those changes is that an SSD will be required to play Cyberpunk 2077 after the patch is implemented. CD Projekt Red has reminded the fans of all those things in a publication on Twitter, that also lists the new system requirements.
Attention players! The upcoming @CyberpunkGame Update 2.0 will bring exciting changes to the game, including the updated system requirements. We'd like to remind you that the new update of the game will only support SSDs. Don't forget to check if your PC meets the new… pic.twitter.com/gmQ8T2yi4Q

"The new system requirements are designed to be more up to date, adding support to new GPUs not available at launch, and targeting a resolution output of either 1080p or 4K for specific in-game presets.
The changes to the minimum requirements are a reflection of our new standard of requirements, which we believe better represent the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p, while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at low preset. The reason for making these changes is that updating the requirements is an important part of the game improvement process, and of enhancing and adding new features."
If you plan on playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PC from today and want to have access to all the novelties in the Update 2.0 you need to make sure that your PC meets the new requirements. It will also be needed in order to play the expansion when it's released on September 26.
