Phantom Liberty continues boosting Cyberpunk 2077's numbers

While it's not uncommon for an expansion to completely overhaul a game, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is outstanding on that matter. The failed launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is now legendary due to the expectations it created and the huge disappointment that came after it. Fortunately for CD Projekt Red, the studio's hard work during the following year was more than enough to fix the game and slowly start gaining the trust of the fans once more. Such a recovery is rarely seen in video games, But it's the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty which has finally boosted the game's sales through the roof.

The expansion everyone wished for

Not only the expansion does add a new storyline starring Idris Elba in the role of Solomon Reed, but it also introduces new gameplay mechanics that elevate Cyberpunk 2077 to the rank of a masterpiece. The gameplay is now more engaging and dynamic than ever and it also includes more options to survive in the streets of Night City. It's no surprise that the numbers revealed by CD Projekt Red for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty are amazing. According to the developer, the expansion has sold over 4.3 million copies since it was released on September 26. Three million copies were sold in the first week after its release.

Unfortunately, there will be no more content for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red is now focusing on other projects, namely the development of the sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but it has not abandoned its sci-fi franchise and we will see more of it in the future.

If you have not discovered it yet, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition was announced recently and it includes both the main game and its Phantom Liberty expansion. As usual, you can trust our comparator to provide you with the best prices to buy cheap Cyberpunk 2077 CD keys.
