Adeptus Arbites is Coming in Darktide's Grim Battlefields
Fatshark has officially unveiled the newest playable class coming to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, the long-awaited Adeptus Arbites, the Imperium's brutal enforcers of order. The new class was revealed last month and yesterday's PC Gaming Show left us with a striking gameplay trailer. The Arbites class will be available to players starting June 23, 2025, marking one of the most significant updates to class lineup in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide since the game's launch.
Justice incarnated
Adeptus Arbites are not mere convicts or conscripts like the original reject characters. These agents are trained professionals, dispatched by Imperial authorities to impose unyielding justice across the lawless depths of Tertium. Their arrival is both a narrative and gameplay shift, bringing a new perspective to the war-torn hive city, and with it, a unique set of tools.
Central to the Arbites' identity is the inclusion of a Cyber-Mastiff, a cybernetically enhanced war hound that acts as a battlefield companion. Players can command the mastiff to chase down enemies, interrupt elites, and provide tactical support during chaotic engagements. It's the first time a Darktide class has introduced a companion mechanic, and early footage hints at strong synergy between handler and hound.
In terms of weaponry, the Adeptus Arbites are equipped for both riot control and close-range destruction. Players can wield a Dominator Maul paired with an Assault Shield, ideal for crowd control and front-line aggression. Alternatively, loadouts like the Shotpistol and Shield combo offer a more defensive playstyle, while the Arbites Shotgun delivers serious stopping power. A new deployable item, the Nuncio Aquila, adds tactical utility by disrupting enemies with localized vox transmissions.
Fatshark is also introducing three unique specialization paths: Authoritarian, Fatalist, and Maul. Each of them has its own voice lines and strategic focus. These are woven into a revamped talent tree with over 80 nodes, giving players deep customization options to define how their Arbitrator dispenses Imperial justice.
Alongside the class release, a free update will overhaul the game's early narrative experience. This includes a refreshed onboarding sequence, better mission structure, and new introductions to key characters. Longtime players can choose to revisit these missions with additional context, while newcomers will benefit from clearer progression and storytelling.
With the Adeptus Arbites stepping into the chaos of Tertium, Darktide fans can expect a class that brings discipline, devastation, and a cybernetic bite. Justice is set to descend on June 23, and you can find the best deals for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide with our comparator.
