You may need a new PC to play Final Fantasy XVI
The Final Fantasy series has been the pinnacle of the JRPG genre for a long time and titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demonstrate it. The second episode in the remake of the beloved RPG from Square Enix was released a couple of weeks ago and the reception has been very positive, which confirms that the series is still a favourite of the fans and prepares the community for the upcoming release of Final Fantasy XVI on PC. The next main instalment in the series is full of surprises and offers a new and epic storyline. However, the impressive graphics of the game on PlayStation consoles may require you to upgrade your PC if you are expecting to play the game on this platform.
Fancy graphics have a cost
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida revealed that the requirements to play the game on PC will be "somewhat high". This is quite surprising considering that the PC offers vastly superior graphics capabilities on the high end compared to the PlayStation 5. You would expect that the average PC shouldn't have any problems running the game, but this may not be the case for the lower end. Back in December, we knew that having an SSD would be mandatory to play Final Fantasy XVI on PC and now everything indicates that the game will be quite demanding. This could lead to the need for a hardware upgrade in order to immerse in the world of Final Fantasy XVI on PC.
Unfortunately, Square Enix has not revealed the whole PC system requirements for Final Fantasy XVI. The studio seems to be trying to optimize the PC version ahead of the launch, which leads to the following question. When will Final Fantasy XVI be released on PC? Well, the developer is not ready to confirm any date yet either. The target continues to be next summer but it will still depend on the development process. However, PC players should be glad that the game will finally stop being exclusive to PlayStation consoles. That is something that is happening more and more often as big publishers seem to be inclined to abandon such a restrictive release policy in order to secure more players for their games.
