Gotham Knights is the new "Batman" game

Fans have been speculating about the possibility of a new game in the Batman franchise for a while, and Gotham Knights is going to be WB Games' answer to their pleas. The only problem is that it's not really a game where Batman himself will appear. Gotham Knights will focus on four characters that are not the caped crusader himself but they are very closely related to Batman, namely Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Nightwing. Those four heroes will be in charge of protecting Gotham City in place of Bruce Wayne's alter ego in a scenario that may be a bit disappointing to his fans.

Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family - Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin - to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. You must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save Gotham from chaos.

Gotham Knights is an open-world game that you will be able to play solo or with another friend in co-op mode. The game will pit those four heroes against Mr. Freeze and his lackeys in the streets of Gotham. Each of them will have different weapons and abilities at their disposal to get rid of the villains, and you can see them in action in a short video that gives us a first look at the gameplay and shows Batgirl.

Gotham Knights has been revealed during the DC FanDome which has taken place during the last weekend. The event has also served to announce several other games and movies that will be released in the future, including Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X at some point in 2022. You can watch a teaser below.

If you were expecting another installment in the Batman: Arkham series to continue playing after finishing Batman: Arkham Knight, you may feel a bit disappointed. But if you are a true fan DC fan, it seems that there will be more than enough video games for you to keep yourself entertained in the future, starting with Gotham Knights, which is coming for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2021.
