The game that influenced immersive horror games is back from the dead. Alone in the Dark is a reimagining of the 1992 classic survival horror game with updated graphics and a new story for modern-day audiences.

Set in the 1920s American South, you enter once more the terrifying Derceto Manor with protagonists Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood as they search for the latter’s missing uncle. As they unravel the house’s haunted past, what they find instead is a horror beyond all reckoning. As devilish creatures emerge from the shadows, you must fight or be dragged to your death.

Explore an expanded mansion and other related locations, solve tricky puzzles, battle your way through the manor’s hideous denizens, and escape with your life. Alone in the Dark features the masterful writing of Mikael Hedberg, writer for SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Feel the terror creep up on you with doom jazz artist Jason Köhnen’s haunting soundtrack. And prepare for the fight of your life against monsters from the twisted imagination of veteran designer Guy Davis. Are you ready for what lies in wait for you in Derceto Manor?

I'm just getting into horror games, having done re7 and re8, Alone in the dark is a game that's making me appreciate the genre more and more.

I've seen some gameplay of the game and I feel it's graphically outdated and the gameplay doesn't look up to date, I hope I'm wrong.

Great cast of characters, I liked the demo and hope the final release delivers an immersive, horror experience with suspenseful moments and challenging encounters

I still remember the first one alone in the dark, 😀 they scared me. I'd also loved the last one released several years ago, this title promises a lot

So, horror games aren't really my strong point, but I've got a few friends who love thrills and are eagerly awaiting this game.

I hate horror games, and it hurts me to play one, especially as I find there's no point in playing a horror game.

After Resident Evil 4 Remake this year, it looks like 2024 will be marked by the return of the game that inspired the license. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a perfect launch with Alone in the Dark.

After an Outcast that wasn't that great, we have a new remake from THQ coming out a few days later. I don't understand how their marketing works, so it remains to be seen whether it will be of better quality.
