Alone in the Dark jumps into the spotlight this week

Many of the fans of the survival horror genre that have been around for a while probably have a little spot in their hearts for Alone in the Dark. The original game from Infogrames was released in 1992 and it can be considered the precursor of the genre. More than 30 years later THQ is creating a new Alone in the Dark as a homage to the original. The game was announced a while ago but we know very little about it. Fortunately, this will change as soon as this week.

The reboot of a true classic

THQ has announced a showcase of Alone in the Dark that will reveal plenty of details about the upcoming reboot of the classic horror franchise. While the official description of the game leaves no doubts about its content, we are yet to discover how true to the original the new Alone in the Dark will be.

"This love letter to the ground-breaking original lets you experience a haunting story through the eyes of one of two protagonists. Play as either Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood and explore your environments, fight monsters, solve puzzles and uncover the uneasy truth of Derceto Manor…"

Alone in the Dark is a thrilling supernatural mystery that lets you delve into the secrets hidden in Derceto Manor in a journey through its history. It will be very interesting to see how the new game takes on such an experience to modernize it without destroying its essence. If you don't want to miss the upcoming showcase, it will take place tomorrow at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET. The release of the game has not been revealed yet, but we may know it during the event.
