Leaks reveal new Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

A recent leak has unveiled exciting new details about Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. One of the biggest highlights of this upcoming installment is the long-awaited return of Mega Evolution—a fan-favorite mechanic that has been missing from the series for years.

Mega Evolution was first introduced in Pokémon X & Y in 2013 and later expanded in Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. However, after Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon, Game Freak removed the mechanic entirely, much to the disappointment of the fanbase. Now, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is bringing it back in a big way.

Naturally, the return of Mega Evolution has sparked speculation about which Pokémon will receive new Mega forms, as only 46 Pokémon originally had access to this transformation.

According to a recent leak from Centro Leaks, Pokémon Legends: Z-A will introduce several new Mega Evolutions. The leak claims that Kalos will receive the most additions with 10 new Mega Evolutions, while Unova and Kanto will get six and four, respectively. Johto will feature three, whereas Sinnoh, Alola, and Galar will each have just one—Mega Froslass, Mega Drampa, and Mega Falinks, respectively.
 

While many fans are thrilled to see new Pokémon receive Mega Evolutions, one notable absence has sparked disappointment—Flygon. Originally intended to get a Mega Evolution in Gen 6, its design was ultimately scrapped due to creative difficulties. Ever since, players have hoped for its return, but it seems Pokémon Legends: Z-A may once again leave Flygon behind.

As with any leak, this information should be taken with caution, as there’s no guarantee these Mega Evolutions will be included in the final game. However, a recent trailer revealed new story elements, hinting that characters in the game will have their wishes granted upon reaching the highest rank—adding even more excitement to the speculation.
