This week's game Launches on PC, PS5, Xbox: October 2025 (Week 42)
Gamers are in for a packed week as a wave of highly anticipated titles lands across consoles and PC. From long-running franchises to fresh indie creations, the variety hitting the market between October 13 and 19 is staggering. Leading the charge is Pokémon Legends: Z-A, one of the year’s most awaited releases, debuting on October 16, 2025.
October 13 - 19 releases
The week kicks off on October 14 with a colorful mix of releases. Just Dance 2026 Edition brings a new playlist and interactive online modes for rhythm game enthusiasts. Alongside it, the whimsical adventure Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking-Beard, the dark fantasy fighter Mohrta, and the adrenaline-fueled racer Rising Heat all make their debut. This first wave already promises to set the tone for an energetic week ahead.
Midweek, on October 15, players can expect a diverse lineup of experiences. BALL x PIT offers fast-paced, physics-driven chaos, while Royal Revolt Survivors combines strategic tower defense gameplay with roguelike elements. For those who prefer puzzles and story-driven content, Cuffbust provides an inventive escape-room experience, and GHOST TRAVELER: Adventures in Edo invites players on a haunting journey through time and ancient Japan.
The release calendar intensifies on October 16, the biggest launch day of the week. Set in a reimagined Lumiose City, Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes the open-world concept introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and evolves it with futuristic settings, advanced urban ecosystems, and a renewed focus on trainer immersion. Players can expect a deeper narrative, enhanced Pokémon AI, and urban exploration unlike anything the series has offered before. With its mix of nostalgia and innovation, it's no surprise that Z-A is shaping up to be a landmark moment for the franchise.
In addition to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, several titles arrive to capture niche audiences. Escape From Duckov offers comedic stealth action, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite – Summer Camp DLC expands the simulator's realistic rescue missions, and Faire Trade delivers a thought-provoking management experience focused on moral choices in business.
Finally, October 17 rounds out the week with three distinctive releases. Keeper introduces an otherworldly tale; The Elf on the Shelf: Christmas Heroes brings festive fun to families; and Away From Home tells an emotional story of identity, distance, and discovery.
With so many major titles launching back-to-back, October 2025 is quickly becoming one of the most crowded and exciting months of the year for gaming. Pokémon fans won't be the only ones busy. Many players are still deeply engaged with Battlefield 6, which continues to dominate online multiplayer charts and social feeds. The competition for screen time this week will be fierce, as both blockbusters aim to command players’ attention in entirely different ways.
