Hogwarts Legacy 2 job listings tease a return to single-player
Hogwarts Legacy remains one of the most talked-about modern RPGs, thanks to its deeply immersive world and the freedom it gives players to live out their own magical journeys. That ongoing enthusiasm has naturally fueled curiosity about a sequel — curiosity now strengthened by fresh job listings that may give us our clearest hints yet about what Hogwarts Legacy 2 will become.
Recent openings on Warner Bros. Discovery’s official careers page suggest that the next game could follow in the footsteps of the first, with a strong emphasis on single-player storytelling. One listing seeks an Executive Producer for a “high-quality single-player action-adventure RPG,” a description nearly identical to the wording used when the original Hogwarts Legacy was in development. Additional roles in brand management, product marketing, and animation also reference the “Harry Potter universe,” reinforcing expectations that a major new installment is underway.
These details provide an interesting contrast to earlier speculation. Weeks ago, some fans believed Hogwarts Legacy 2 might evolve into an MMORPG after certain listings mentioned experience with “live-service games for an online multiplayer RPG.” But the newest descriptions paint a different picture — one that aligns more closely with what made the first game so beloved. As highlighted in our previous article, players praised Hogwarts Legacy for making them feel like real students at Hogwarts, creating a personal and atmospheric experience that is difficult to replicate in a shared-world format.
A Future Filled With Multiple Wizarding World Games?
The new details have also reignited discussion that Warner Bros. and Avalanche may be developing more than one Harry Potter title simultaneously. The idea isn’t far-fetched: the company has repeatedly emphasized that expanding the Wizarding World gaming IP is a major priority. With both single-player and multiplayer roles appearing across different job postings, it’s possible that an online-focused project and a more traditional sequel are being developed in parallel.
Warner Bros. has previously stated that the next Hogwarts Legacy installment is planned to release alongside the upcoming Harry Potter TV series — potentially placing its launch window around 2026 or 2027. With anticipation rising, fans are eagerly watching for the studio’s next move and hoping the sequel captures the same enchantment that made the original a global hit.
