Capcom has announced that it will hold a dedicated Resident Evil Showcase later this week, during which the company will unveil new footage from Resident Evil Requiem. The event will focus on the next major entry in the iconic survival horror franchise and is expected to provide fans with a clearer look at how the game is shaping up ahead of its release.

Increasing the hype

The digital presentation is scheduled to air on Thursday and will run for approximately 12 minutes. Capcom has confirmed that the showcase will include previously unseen gameplay, along with fresh information about Resident Evil Requiem. While the publisher has not detailed every segment, it has made clear that the spotlight will remain firmly on the game itself rather than broader franchise announcements.

The showcase will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch, with broadcasts available in multiple languages, including English and Japanese. This approach follows Capcom’s recent strategy of hosting focused, short-form presentations designed to deliver concise updates directly to its global audience.

Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline installment in the series and is currently slated for release on February 27, 2026. The game is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Early reveals have already drawn attention for their high level of visual fidelity and atmospheric environments, suggesting a strong emphasis on tension and horror.

Interest in Resident Evil Requiem has continued to grow following initial teases that hinted at a dual-protagonist structure, reportedly featuring a new character alongside returning series veteran Leon S. Kennedy. Fans are now hoping the upcoming showcase will clarify gameplay systems, narrative direction, and how the title balances classic survival horror elements with modern design sensibilities.

With launch day approaching, this week's Resident Evil Showcase represents a key moment in Capcom's promotional campaign. It promises to be the most substantial look yet at what Resident Evil Requiem will bring to the franchise. As most people are saying, the game is great. It's stil early, but it's one of the best AAA releases of 2026 so far. I'm glad Capcom does this showcases and I hope they show some love to their old franchises too. I can definitely see a new Dino Crisis in the future if they keep handling things as well as they are now.

I've never played Resident Evil Requiem, but after watching several videos, what interested me most was the gameplay and the presence of two playable characters. From what I've seen, Capcom seems to be proposing two very distinct approaches: one of the characters seems more survival and infiltration-oriented, with few resources and cautious progression, while the other seems a little more at ease in combat, with a slightly more varied arsenal. The excerpts also show particular care taken with animations, inventory management and the staging of confrontations, which remain violent and heavy.

I think the event achieved its purpose of raising expectations. Now that the game has been released, the same expectation continues.

I was worried that the game would be significantly inferior to the previous installments, but I didn't have to be. It's great to play as Leon Kennedy again, even if at first it seems like you won't have much play time. You just have to wait it out. Time-wise, RE4 is certainly much longer to complete.

During the Resident Evil Showcase Capcom finally revealed new details about Resident Evil Requiem, the next installment in the historic survival horror saga. Director Koshi Nakanishi led the presentation, diving into one of the game's most discussed aspects: the profound gameplay differences between the two playable protagonists, Grace and Leon Kennedy.

Miałam przyjemność oglądać stream'a z tej gry i gra zapowiada sie fascynująco! Cena nie jest wygórowana, a sama gra ma to coś w sobie.
Very addictive game and a lot of possibilities during the game through weapon purchases, character changes, etc. Graphics and style of mechanics in my opinion without any flaws.

Yeah, i agree, the game feels like a perfect mix between old school RE and modern horror games. But playing it makes me feel like it's too much. Like every area (at least those i played through) had a "big ennemy" to avoid or run from. It makes the threat less impressive after some time :/ The game is still a good one but i feel tricked ^^'

The January 15th showcase delivered everything fans wanted — suspense, gameplay insights, and a few shocking surprises. The highlight was the deep dive into Requiem’s new mechanics, which look innovative yet true to the series. It set high expectations without revealing too much. A smart move from Capcom.
