How does the 'Adoption' mechanic work, and what impact does it have on the gameplay loop?

Regarding the terraforming mechanic, are there limits on what I can change, and how reversible are the changes?
You can significantly alter the environment through terraforming, but the extent of these changes depends on the specific modules and resources available. Most changes are permanent, offering a lasting impact on the game world.

Outcast A New Beginning takes us back to June 1999, when the title of the same name was released on our PCs and won us all over for its innovation and exceptional graphics, as well as being defined by many as adventure of the year. Thanks to THQNordic we will return to the world of Adelpha. It is up to Cutter Slade to undertake a mission and save the planet again.

The combat looks fun and the exploration paired with traversal seems nice as well. Not expecting much out of this one but still might turn out to be worth the time and money. Not every game needs to be a masterpiece, being entertaining is good enough for me.

The first time I played this game was way back in 2000 on my very first gaming pc. The experince was magical but I never did get around to finishing it. I really hope this version is good. It looks phenomenal

This game was one of my favorite games before... I remember the adventure and action together with the nice graphics at that time. This new game will revoke my old memories for sure but with a new feeling with new graphics , music and sounds... I love it. 5/5 Stars from me.

My favorite game was the og one. Can’t wait for this. Little bit worried they will push too hard on the taking over territory part and not enough one xploring but we will see. Outcast had some truly innovative things when it came out, like being able to ask NPCs where others were located and they would describe and point. Small touches that really created a living world.

A sequel from the original devs, no less. It feels like they've been trying to make this game for 20 years, i remember finding the website of one of the original artists, and they had concept art for outcast 2. After this new game was announced, the artist hid all the concept art from their page "to not spoil Outcast: A New Beginning". Its such a longtime passion project.

I played it a bit during the Steam Next Fest. My impressions were a bit mixed. On the one hand, the traversal, movement and combat all felt quite good. The combat was a bit on the easy side, but perhaps this was a low level area we were in for the demo. On the bad side, the demos were very limited - the exploration demo was max. 20 minutes. During those 20 minutes I felt like I saw a lot of the same enemies, resources and two "chase the moving light" puzzles.

Le premier a été un de mes premiers jeux vidéos. Il était superbe. Et la suite, tant d'année après, est une réussite totale. J'adore !
The first was one of my first video games. It was superb. And the sequel, so many years later, is a total success. I just love it!
