The burning sands of the Nehekhara deserts hide ancient ruins and a restless horde of skeletal warriors. The golden age of the Nekeharan civilization ended a long time ago, but the long-dead warriors will raise to protect their lands from invaders and battle for the glory of the Tomb Kings.

Rise of the Tomb Kings is an expansion for Total War: Warhammer II. It adds a new faction with new units and special mechanics to the strategy game based on the tabletop miniature game from Games Workshop. The Tomb Kings' armies are animated by the powerful and ancient magic of the Nehekharan, which Liche Priests wield. These powerful spellcasters perform special rites during the battle to unleash powerful magics and raise monstrosities from the sands of the desert.

Several legendary lords command the Tomb King armies on the battlefield, including Settra The Imperishable, High Queen Khalida, Grand Hierophant Khatep, and Arkhan the Black. They bring different starting units into the battlefield and grant different bonuses to the troops they command. All of them share a common goal: to gather the nine books of Nagash and destroy the powerful necromancer in an epic final battle.
