Total War Warhammer 2 introduces the Lizardmen

Publisher SEGA has released the first in-engine trailer for Total War: Warhammer 2 showcasing the Lizardmen.

The Lizardmen are one of the four different races that Total War: Warhammer 2 will be adding to this branch of the strategy franchise based on the Warhammer universe. With the release of this first video after the game was officially announced last March, we can finally get a better idea of the motivations of the inhabitants of the wild jungle of Lustria and the kind of units that there will be available in the game.

Those ancient and fearless warriors strive to follow the will of the Old Ones under the command of the Slann. Their Great Plan defines how the world should be and the lizardmen will fight anyone that may interfere the designs of their gods. The Children of the Gods conform a fierce and resilient army able to stand their ground and overpower all kind of enemies. Aided by the magic of the Slann they tame the ancient dinosaurs that inhabit their homeland and bring them into battle as you can see in the trailer. From the flying Terradons to the towering Stegadons or the vicious Cold Ones, the lizardmen ride those deadly beasts into battle supporting endless ranks of Skins, Saurus warriors and Kroxigors, ready to follow the orders of their rulers and savagely punish the races that divert from the Great Plan.

Along with the new races, troops and lands, the sequel of Total War: Warhammer will also feature a new type of narrative campaign, where the gameplay not only consists in dominating and managing territories but also focuses on a fierce race between all factions to reach the Great Vortex that rises in the sky over Ulthuan, and ultimately destroy it or use it for their own means.

We are eager to show you more about Creative Assembly's upcoming title and we expect to do so soon, because Total War: Warhammer 2 will be playable next June, during E3 2017, so we expect a lot of information about the game being released during the event.
