Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties brings together two unforgettable tales of loyalty, power, and survival in Japan's criminal underworld. This definitive package combines a fully remade classic with an all-new story, offering hours of intense action, gripping drama, and unforgettable characters.

Step into the shoes of Kazuma Kiryu in Yakuza Kiwami 3, a full remake of one of the series' most beloved entries. Now managing an orphanage in Okinawa, Kiryu's peaceful life is disrupted when he is pulled back into the dangerous Tokyo underworld. Featuring two distinct fighting styles, the legendary Dragon of Dojima and weapon-based Ryukyu style, players will experience visceral combat across stunningly recreated locales, from sun-soaked Okinawan streets to the neon-lit alleys of Kamurocho.

Once the Kiryu story concludes, dive into Dark Ties, a brand-new adventure following Yoshitaka Mine, a former startup founder navigating the complex world of organized crime. Dark Ties explores Mine's quest for identity, loyalty, and human connection as he struggles to survive and rise in a world full of betrayal and ambition. The game introduces a fresh combat system inspired by Shoot-Boxing, offering a different but equally thrilling combat experience.

Both games feature richly detailed environments, side activities, and mini-games that make the world feel alive. From casual diversions like karaoke and arcade games to story-driven side quests, there is always something new to explore. Together, these experiences create a sweeping narrative of protagonists walking vastly different paths, their fates intertwined by the shadow of the yakuza.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties delivers a complete, immersive experience. Master deep combat mechanics, explore vibrant worlds, and uncover stories of honor, betrayal, and redemption in one extraordinary package.

Worthy playing in my opinion. A lot of QoL updates and changes that will please both new and old players alike. One negative thing is that the story did change in some big ways, so that might be a point of contention for some, but it opened up a lot of new paths for the future of the series.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties feels like a careful balance between preservation and light modernization rather than a bold reinvention. The game keeps its focus on character-driven storytelling and the everyday drama the series is known for, while gameplay tweaks aim to smooth rough edges without fully redefining the experience. Combat is more refined but still carries traces of older design choices, and the pacing can feel uneven at times. At the same time, side activities and the lived-in city atmosphere maintain the familiar rhythm fans expect. Overall, it comes across as a steady, grounded entry that neither pushes the series forward aggressively nor relies purely on nostalgia.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is the remake we needed. The original is still enjoyable overall, but it was feeling the effects of its time, not only technically but also in terms of gameplay. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has done an excellent job not only making the narrative more accessible and the gameplay experience more enjoyable, but they've also added a wealth of new content. Not only does it have Dark Ties, which allows us to better understand some of the iconic characters featured in the third installment, but it also has some excellent side activities, including Survival in Hell, Bad Boy Dragon, and the Morning Glory activities.

you cant buy dark tides as a standalone game, so if u had the og yakuza 3 then u have to buy the remaster if u want to get dark tides... or if u want to buy only the yakuza 3 remaster YOU HAVE to buy dark tides. I read somewhere they might release dark tides as a standalone game in the future but press X to doubt

I didn’t think I would dive back into Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties with so much pleasure. The overall quality of the remake really surprised me: the faces are more expressive, the cutscenes better rhythmic and some sets gain in depth. Exploring the city remains a pleasure thanks to its density and its many small details. The combat system remains intentionally rough, with very defensive enemies, but I liked this more technical approach that requires varying sequences. The ancillary activities are always as numerous and sometimes absurd, which effectively lightens the main plot. On the technical side, I noted some slowdowns during fights with many opponents, but the whole remains clean and stable. A remake that respects the original while smartly modernizing it

The Original Yakuza was the worst in the main line line up. It needed a remake, but to it doesn't need to change the whole story of the franchise to be rewritten. If you love the franchise then this is an awesome game. Just maybe not as a starting point for new players.
