Code Vein II looks like a thoughtful evolution of the original rather than just a sequel in name. It keeps the grim, emotional tone that defined its predecessor, but pushes the combat and world design into a more dynamic space. The refined combat mechanics and deeper customization options give players more freedom to shape their playstyle, while the atmospheric environments continue to make exploration feel like a journey rather than a slog. Some pacing rough edges may still surface for those expecting a purely fast-paced action experience, but overall Code Vein II manages to balance challenge and accessibility in a way that can appeal both to series veterans and newcomers looking for a stylish, dark RPG.

It's fun. Don't expect a soulslike to rival Elden Ring and you'll have a good time. The customization options for your character are pretty crazy, and I quite liked the combat. Performance isn't great, but the graphics are pretty. All in all, it could be better? Yeah, but it was still a pretty enjoyable sequel.

A sequel that expands on the original formula but dilutes its soul, offering a solid experience but held back by excessive simplification and evident technical uncertainties.

Code Vein 2 has expanded the richness of its universe. The story is denser and more pleasant to follow. I really enjoyed the way the game develops its characters, through better written dialogue and more expressive animations. I enjoyed discovering the story of the many characters throughout the adventure. The art direction is one of the highlights of the game: each area has its own visual identity. Exploration is rewarded, there are many hidden things to discover. The fights are still as cool, with more dynamic gameplay and mechanics that encourage experimentation. The soundtrack is discreet but effective, enhancing the general atmosphere. Even though Code Vein 2 doesn’t revolutionize the formula, it improves on a lot of aspects

I really love the game, but I experience stuttering when playing with a controller instead of keyboard and mouse. The optimization is honestly pretty bad. Aside from that, the character creation is very detailed, the story is mediocre, but the action and combat feel are excellent. The difficulty is on par with Souls-like games.

Code Vein II looks like a strong evolution of the original, with its darker world, time‑travel premise, and a renewed focus on character-driven storytelling. Combat seems faster and more flexible thanks to the new build system and blood-related skills, encouraging experimentation with different weapons and playstyles. Overall, it feels like a Soulslike that keeps the anime flair of the first game while pushing for deeper systems and a more epic, world-saving journey.

game is super unoptimized. game looks like its 360p. it will randomly lag and run at 2 fps. even when it isnt lagging, the combat feels like its 2 fps. wrong localizations trying to push agendas. (more specific, they changed 'justice and madness' into 'justice and bigotry') costume censorship. and the cherry on top, 70 bucks. but keep in mind its bandai namco, they have been ruining everything lately aka one punch man s3 aka the worst anime in history. so not suprised i would rather spend 5 bucks to get code vein 1 than spending 1 dollar to get code vein 2
