The Witcher 4 cinematic video was hard to make

When CD Projekt Red revealed the cinematic video for The Witcher 4 at The Game Awards 2024 it offered a first look at the new adventure. The video showcased Ciri as the new protagonist of the series and it was clear enough from the first moment that she is not gonna be like Geralt. However, the video was well received by the fans who love The Witcher. The introduction of Ciri as the main character in the new game opens the door for new approaches to action but also for new ways of telling the story. The character has earned a star spot for itself due to its importance in the previous events, and she is worthy enough of a game for herself where players can delve more into her story and the world of The Witcher. Of course, many would prefer to see Geralt return, but that is not happening for the time being, at least as the main character.

Many days of work

Developer CD Projekt Red has released a new video where it shows the making process of the cinematic presentation for The Witcher 4. The video sheds light on the impressive work that a huge team had to do to deliver the final video. One of the highlights of this process was that it took them over 14 days of motion capture filming to recreate the scenes where Ciri saves Mioni, a girl who's about to be sacrificed to a hideous monster as an offering. Synchronizing the monster's movements with the actors while filming the fight was quite a bit of an effort, but the results were worth it. The cinematic video was the best possible way of announcing the game while offering the fans an opportunity to immerse themselves into the world of The Witcher 4.
