Stray Gods is an interactive musical about Greek myths

Developed by Summerfall Studios, Stray Gods is a spirited narrative-driven roleplaying musical that draws inspiration from Greek mythology, and it’s coming out this August. Starting off as a crowdfunded game, Stray Gods has grown by leaps and bounds and now features an amazing array of composers and voice-acting talents such as Laura Bailey, Troy Baker, Lauren "Lolo" Spencer, Ashley Johnson, Felicia Day, Anthony Rapp, Erika Iishi, Rahul Kohli, and more. Divine inspiration

Stray Gods follows Grace, a college dropout and a member of a struggling band, who is suddenly gifted with the power of a Muse. She also discovers that Greek gods such as Zeus, Apollo, Persephone, and Pan exist in modern times. Somehow, she must get a grip on her newfound powers and discover what happened to Calliope, the murdered Muse whose powers she inherited. At the same time, she must make sense of her place in the world as any young person would today.

Stay Gods is a narrative-driven game much like Life is Strange and The Wolf Among Us, but stands unique by leaning into its musical premise. The dialogue choices you make in the game are done in song—for example, early on you get into a musical duel with Pan, and the responses you choose are woven into the song number. Your choices also shape Grace’s character, whether she is clever, guarded, or aggressive.

The song numbers themselves were created by acclaimed composers: Pop star Montaigne, Australian comedy group Tripod, and Austin Wintory (Journey, The Banner Saga, and Abzu).

Stray Gods sounds like it’s going to be a unique narrative experience and we won’t have to wait long for it—it’s set to launch on August 3 for the PC via Steam.
