Last night we could watch online the second Ubisoft Forward, an event that took place for the first time in July. This is the format that Ubisoft has chosen to reveal news about the games it has in development and to announce new ones. Although nobody was really surprised because the game was leaked a few hours before the event and rumors have been circulating for months, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been officially been announced.

Developed by Ubisoft studios in Pune and Bombay, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is, as its name suggests, a remake of the first installment in the Sands of Time trilogy, which was released in 2003. It will be available on January 21, 2021, on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Uplay and the Epic Game Store. It seems that a tweet from the publisher also announced a release on next-generation consoles but said tweet has been deleted and there is no official confirmation about that. No release date has been announced for Nintendo Switch and it seems that it may not be in the plans of the developers, at least yet, although we have seen the game listed at some retailers on this platform.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will faithfully relive the story of the original game with new graphics and reworked game mechanics. We will find all the characters from the original game, including Princess Farah, the Vizier, and of course the Prince, who will once again be voiced by Yuri Lowenthal, who had already lent his voice to the character in 2003. The announcement of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been received with mixed opinions, and the quality of its graphics has been criticized on the networks as some people think that the game does not meet current standards in this area. That doesn't stop other fans of the series from being excited to replay the cult game.

Finally, it will also be possible to unlock the very first Prince of Persia game of 1989 simply by playing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
