Modern Warfare gets the Gun Game mode

The addition of the Gun Game mode to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a hot topic since the first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward was released on October 25. It has become one of the favorite game modes of the players in the Call of Duty series, and even though it's usually included in the games created by Treyarch, it has finally been added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

In Gun Game, the players' perks are removed and it's a free-for-all mode where killing enemies grants you new weapons. Gun Game has been included as part of the additions and modifications made to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in a huge patch that has been released today. Update 1.09 comes with a number of bug fixes and balance tweaks that aim to improve the gameplay experience. This is not surprising because we have seen plenty of updates already since the game launched, and even though this one doesn't really address all of the concerns of the players, it's a step in the right direction at least.

Along with the Gun Game mode, Update 1.09 also adds a couple of new Special Operations, Harbringer and Brimstone. The first one requires you to gather information from a confidant in Verdansk, while the second one tasks you with blowing up a runaway train. Classic Spec Ops also gets a new mission, Door Kick.

On the multiplayer side, the Realism Moshpit playlist is available starting today. It includes Domination, Hardpoint, Headquarters, and Kill Confirmed modes.

Update 1.09 is already available on all platforms. Remember that it's a pretty big update that weighs 20GB on PC and 14GB on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
