Season 4 brought some exciting additions to the gameplay on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone but now that its end is getting closer Infinity Ward is focusing on the contents for the new season and it's been revealing those during the past few weeks. The evolution of some of the maps is just one of the novelties that will improve the game during Season 5. The opportunity of playing inside the Stadium, for example, was received with excitement when it was announced, and it will prove to be one of the most contested areas once the new season begins. But there are more additions coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone and it seems that a brand new faction is going to be one of those.
As Season Five approaches, events have transpired and led to the formation of a new group aligned in name only with the Allegiance faction – Shadow Company. An elite PMC, Shadow Company operates outside the boundaries of the original Armistice. Forged from the fires of in-fighting between the Coalition and the Allegiance, Shadow Company has a framework and agenda all of their own.
All experts in their field with formal military experience, this trio of Operators is prepared to change the current experience of Verdansk. Highly skilled with a diverse range of expertise the Shadow Company consists of Rozlin “Roze” Helms (formerly Jackals), Velikan, and Marcus “Lerch” Ortega, the Company’s leader.
Although the addition of a new faction doesn't really imply any changes to the gameplay it also allows the story of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone to move forward. But the most important thing about this announcement is probably that two new weapons that are shown in the Shadow Company video that you can watch below. Their final names may be different once Infinity Ward confirms them but they seem to be the B&T APC9 submachine gun and the AN-94 assault rifle. It's likely that the unlock of those two guns will be associated with the Season 5 Battle Pass.
Considering that the new season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone is starting on August 5 we won't have to wait much longer to find out about all the novelties coming to both games.
