Heihachi Mishima returns in Tekken 8

So far, Tekken 8 has focused on the conflict between Kazuha Mishima and Jin Kazama. Father and son are sworn enemies and are bearers of the devil gen. However, while Kazuya has fallen under its influence, Jin has managed to keep it at bay, which has ultimately led to an ongoing conflict between them. When it comes to the story of the franchise, Tekken 8 brings the conclusion to this long-lived enmity with the final clash between them. Of course, the story is probably not the main appeal of the popular fighting series but it serves to drive it forward.

Grandpa Heihachi is back in the fray

Tekken 8 features a large roster of playable characters but the latest one will surprise the fans of the series. Heihachi Mishima, who is Kazuya's father and Jin's grandfather is returning to the series. He supposedly died at the hands of Kazuya in a previous installment but now he returns to the King of the Iron Fist tournament. He will be available as a DLC fighter for Tekken 8 next Autumn and you can watch him in action in his official presentation video.

Heihachi is a seasoned and skilled fighter capable of delivering killing blows with ease, and it will be a great addition to Tekken 8's roster. However, nothing has been revealed about the implications of his return in terms of story. Will Kazuya and Jin have to team up to fight against him? Why is he back from death right now? And what's more important, what's his goal? All these questions will have an answer when Heiachi is finally playable after the summer.

Heiachi is the third DLC character for Tekken 8 after Eddie Gordo, who has been available for a while, and Lidia Sobieska, whose DLC has been released today.
