Forza Horizon 6 Reveals PC System Requirements and Major New Features
Xbox and Playground Games have officially lifted the curtain on Forza Horizon 6, confirming the game's PC system requirements alongside new details about its gameplay and technological improvements. The announcement follows the release of the first gameplay footage and solidifies the next chapter of the open-world racing series as one of the most ambitious entries to date.
A new evolution of the series
According to Microsoft, Forza Horizon 6 has been designed to remain accessible on PC while taking advantage of modern hardware. The minimum system requirements include Windows 10 (version 22H2 or newer), an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a DirectX 12-compatible graphics card such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, or Intel Arc A380. These specifications represent a noticeable increase over Forza Horizon 5, particularly in memory demands, reflecting the game’s expanded scope and visual complexity.
From a technical standpoint, the new installment introduces notable visual upgrades. Playground Games has confirmed enhanced lighting, improved reflections, and more advanced ray-tracing features compared to previous titles. While these effects will scale based on hardware, higher-end PCs will benefit from richer environments, more realistic car materials, and smoother performance at higher resolutions.
Beyond technical improvements, Forza Horizon 6 brings meaningful changes to gameplay and structure. The Horizon Festival evolves with a refreshed progression system that emphasizes player choice, exploration, and event variety. New activities and challenges have been designed to better integrate open-world driving with competitive racing, while long-requested refinements to handling and vehicle physics aim to deliver a more responsive driving experience.
The game also expands social and customization features. Players can expect deeper personalization options for cars and garages, as well as enhanced community tools that make sharing liveries, photos, and custom events more intuitive. Car culture plays a larger role this time, with dedicated social spaces and events inspired by real-world automotive gatherings.
Accessibility remains a key focus for the series. Forza Horizon 6 introduces additional assist options and interface improvements intended to make the game playable for a wider audience, continuing Xbox’s broader accessibility initiative across its first-party titles.
Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled to launch on PC and Xbox Series X/S later this year and will be available day one through Xbox Game Pass.
