The legendary Spire rises again in Slay the Spire 2, the sequel to the groundbreaking roguelike deck-building game from Mega Crit. Return to the mysterious tower where every climb is different, every decision matters, and every deck you build can determine whether you reach the top or fall somewhere along the way.

Long dormant, the Spire has awakened once more, bringing with it new dangers, strange creatures, and unpredictable events. As you ascend floor by floor, you’ll construct a powerful deck from hundreds of cards, gather game-changing relics, and discover combinations that can turn the tide of battle. Strategy, careful planning, and the ability to adapt will be essential to survive the tower’s constantly shifting challenges.

Each journey through the Spire is procedurally generated, ensuring that no two runs are ever the same. Choose from a roster of new and returning characters, each offering distinct abilities, unique card sets, and entirely different tactical approaches. Experiment with powerful synergies, refine your strategy, and uncover the secrets hidden throughout the Spire’s many levels.

For the first time in the series, Slay the Spire 2 also introduces cooperative gameplay. Players can join forces to climb the tower together, combining strategies and coordinating their decks to overcome powerful enemies and unexpected encounters. Teamwork opens up new possibilities and adds a fresh dimension to the classic deck-building formula.

With expanded mechanics and a constantly evolving world, Slay the Spire 2 builds upon everything that made the original beloved while introducing deeper systems and new ways to play. Every climb is a fresh challenge and the Spire is waiting.

The second installment seems to be benefiting from very good feedback from players. After all, the first was already very convincing, and I have no doubt that new heroes, gameplays and co-op mode will embellish an already successful first title.

An awesome sequel. There's new characters, new missions types and more importantly, card modifiers, since this is a card builder afterall. You can make way more builds now with the new archtypes and it's still just as addicting as expected. Also, it's in early access, so it's gonna get even better.

Slay the Spire 2 is solid. The devs have clearly mastered their deckbuilding system, which is as clean as ever, the synergies are cool to discover, and each run forces you to think a little. There's nothing to say, the game is well done and deserves its success. But personally, I find it hard to stay hooked. After a few runs, I quickly get the feeling that I'm doing the same thing over and over again, even though the game tries to vary the situations. As a result, I get bored pretty quickly, whereas others will go on for dozens of hours without a problem. It's clearly not a bad game, far from it, but it's just not my thing.

The amount of events, relics, potions and new cards make every run literally a new experience. The first game already did this very well, but I feel this one does it better.

Similar to 1, but better. It has what it lacked in its first installment, and a fairly high difficulty but well done, so it is tremendously entertaining.

Slay the Spire 2 manages the rare feat of surpassing a deck-builder monument. This new opus retains the strategic essence that made the first so addictive, while injecting a much-needed dose of freshness. The switch to the Godot engine makes for an exemplary fluidity of experience, and the much more polished art direction sublimates every battle. The arrival of the Necrobinder is a real revelation: this class brings unprecedented tactical depth thanks to its summoning mechanic, forcing us to totally rethink our usual gameplay patterns. New relic types and more narrative random events enrich each ascent, making the frustration of defeat almost palatable as we look forward to testing a new card synergy. Mega Crit once again proves its mastery of balancing. This is an insanely generous title which is already establishing itself as the new must-have reference for all strategy and rogue-like enthusiasts.

Given the ultra-positive feedback from early access, Slay the Spire 2 seems to be off to a very solid start, and that's good to see. As a player of the first game, on which I spent a few hours, I'm looking forward to this sequel. Clearly, I'd rather wait until the end of early access to get into the swing of things and enjoy a well-balanced game. With this early feedback, I really expect to find a quality at least equivalent to the first, which was very solid in terms of gameplay, synergies and replayability. I hope they'll keep this ultra-addictive base while adding enough new features to renew the experience without distorting it. And most importantly, I hope it will be Steam Deck compatible, because the first one was just perfect on Steam Deck.
