Release date

Developer Keen Games has officially confirmed that Enshrouded will leave Early Access and launch in its full 1.0 version on October 15, 2026, for PC and PlayStation 5. The announcement marks the end of a development journey that began with the game's Early Access debut on Steam in January 2024.

The survival action RPG has steadily grown thanks to a series of major content updates and extensive community feedback, helping it become one of the most successful indie survival games of recent years. The full release will bring the complete experience to PC players while also marking the title's long-awaited debut on Sony's current-generation console.

To celebrate the announcement, Keen Games released a new trailer showcasing some of the content planned for Version 1.0. Among the highlights is a massive floating island supported by enormous stone pillars and connected to the world below through several platforms, hinting at a substantial new area to explore. The update will also introduce improvements to onboarding for new players, platform optimizations, expanded Adventure Sharing tools, additional logic systems and traps, as well as new enemy types and smarter AI behaviors.

Xbox has to wait

However, the news was accompanied by a delay for the Xbox version. While the game was originally planned to launch simultaneously across all platforms, Keen Games has pushed back the Xbox Series X/S edition to Spring 2027. According to CEO Jan Jöckel, the studio needs additional time to ensure the game meets its quality and performance standards on Microsoft's consoles.

"We never want to rush a platform release or compromise on quality," Jöckel said in the announcement, adding that development on the Xbox version is progressing steadily and that more information will be shared in the coming months.

After more than two years in Early Access and numerous major updates, Enshrouded is finally preparing for its full release, with PC and PS5 players set to return to Embervale on October 15, 2026. Feel free to use our comparator to find the best deals for Enshrouded.

Nice! I've been waiting for this one to leave Early access for a while. Valheim is also releasing their 1.0 patch, but a month earlier, in september. Great time to be a survival fan!

Enshrouded leaving Early Access this Fall feels like a big milestone for the game, especially considering how quickly it built a dedicated community during its early months. The team has been steadily improving the core systems, and the 1.0 announcement suggests they’re confident in the overall direction and feature set. What makes this exciting is that Enshrouded already had a strong foundation — the survival mechanics, exploration, and building systems were well‑received even in their unfinished state. A full release gives the developers a chance to refine the experience, add missing content, and deliver a more polished world for both new and returning players. If the 1.0 update manages to expand the late‑game and tighten the progression curve, Enshrouded could easily become one of the standout survival titles of the year. It’s definitely a release worth keeping an eye on.
