Recently, FromSoftware confirmed the return of one of the most iconic armor sets in the Souls franchise—the Artorias Set. Inspired by the Berserker Armor from Berserk, this legendary gear’s reappearance is building even more hype around Elden Ring: Nightreign’s release.

The return of Artorias and the Gaping Dragon

As reported by Famitsu Japan, new footage from Elden Ring: Nightreign was showcased during the Spring 2025 Game Event in Tokyo. The video confirmed the return of the Artorias Set from the original Dark Souls DLC, Artorias of the Abyss, which players originally earned by defeating Artorias the Abysswalker. Additionally, the fan-favorite boss Gaping Dragon from Dark Souls will return in Elden Ring: Nightreign, giving fans a nostalgic challenge with modern visuals.

Famitsu also reported on the game’s eighth playable class, the "Avenger." While this class has been confirmed, no gameplay footage or details about its abilities have been revealed yet—unlike the other seven classes that have already been showcased. More information is expected to be announced on May 10 at the next Elden Ring: Nightreign preview event in Osaka, where fans hope to learn more about the game’s characters and lore.

Veterans of Dark Souls and newcomers to Elden Ring will soon be able to relive the thrill of facing iconic enemies and equipping legendary gear in a whole new world. Other returning elements—such as the Nameless King, briefly spotted in the debut trailer—suggest that more classic bosses and armor sets will appear in Elden Ring: Nightreign.
