Dead by Daylight Celebrates 10 Years With Jason and More
Dead by Daylight's 10th anniversary celebration gave fans a much clearer picture of where the game is headed next. Throughout the showcase, Behaviour Interactive shared a wide range of updates covering upcoming collaborations, new content currently in development, and the studio's long-term plans for the franchise. While the event featured no shortage of noteworthy reveals, the spotlight naturally fell on Jason Voorhees, the legendary horror icon from Friday the 13th, whose arrival had been requested by the community for years.
The Friday the 13th icon leads a packed showcase celebrating a decade of horror
It's easy to understand why Jason's debut generated so much excitement. Throughout Dead by Daylight's history, he has consistently ranked among the most requested crossover characters whenever discussions about future chapters surfaced. Ongoing legal complications surrounding the Friday the 13th franchise once made such a collaboration seem highly unlikely, making his official arrival during the game's 10th anniversary all the more meaningful for longtime fans.
Even so, Jason was only one piece of the larger picture Behaviour Interactive set out to present during the celebration. While he may have been the most anticipated reveal, he was far from the only notable addition announced during the event. The showcase also featured collaborations involving major franchises such as The Walking Dead, Scooby-Doo, Terrifier, and even Diablo IV, alongside the reveal of new content titled The Black Banquet and several other initiatives planned for the future of Dead by Daylight.
Beyond the crossover announcements, the development team also discussed its plans for the next phase of the game. A collaboration with The Witcher has been confirmed, while new game modes are currently being explored in an effort to add more variety to an experience that longtime players already know well. Behaviour Interactive also highlighted its intention to expand mod support in the future, a move that could open the door to new creative opportunities for the community if fully realized.
Outside of the game itself, Behaviour Interactive provided an update on the Dead by Daylight film adaptation. Although few concrete details were shared, the project's continued presence during the anniversary event suggests that the company's ambitions for the franchise extend well beyond regular in-game updates. Rather than focusing solely on short-term content, the showcase felt like a statement of intent regarding the future direction of Dead by Daylight in the years ahead.
Ten years after its launch, Dead by Daylight continues to evolve in ways few could have predicted when it first arrived. Jason Voorhees may be the face of this year's celebration, but the wide range of announcements revealed throughout the showcase demonstrates that Behaviour Interactive still has ambitious plans for the world it has spent the last decade building.
