BioWare details progression systems in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
As in any other RPG, character progression is an important part of the experience in Dragon Age: The Veliguard. BioWare has delved into the levelling mechanics and progression system that the game will have in a recent blog post, and it looks like there will be plenty of options to choose from when making your character stronger.
Three progression fields
When it comes to character progression, gaining experience via fighting enemies or exploring is granted but the bigger part of your EXP gains in the game will come from quests. This way, you will be somewhat compelled and rewarded for advancing through the story. With enough experience, you will level up, gaining skill points that you can use to unlock a series of benefits from skill trees. With three specialization areas to spend your points and a plethora of active and passive abilities, traits, and stats to unlock, the number of possible builds is countless, allowing you to create the configuration that better suits your gameplay style. In Dragon Age: The Veilguard you can reach level 50, which provides you with a good number of skill points to spend.
Another important part of your character progression is their equipment. Weapons and armor are critical to fight against challenging enemies and in Dragon Age: The Veilguard you will find many of these. However, instead of constantly replacing them, you can also choose to upgrade and enchant them to make them more powerful. Also, depending on what faction you choose at the beginning of the game, you will have access to a variety of cosmetic options that you can use to customize the look of your equipment.
Although they do not belong to your character itself and you can't control them in combat directly, your companions also have the potential to evolve and unlock new abilities via their skill trees. These will allow you to create a solid party capable of facing the most fearsome threats. You can take two of them with you on any mission and they will significantly support to your character. Of course, you will probably have your favourites, but you may want to consider bringing others if you think they will be more useful in any given mission.
With so many ways of becoming stronger and different ways to adapt your character to your favourite playstyle, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will surely offer you an experience you can tailor to your preferences. Make sure to use our comparator to find the best offer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard if you want to travel to Thedas in a new adventure when the game is released.
