Assetto Corsa is a racing simulator that aims to provide the best immersion possible with its advanced DirectX graphics engine. Immersive environments, dynamic lighthing, and realistic materials and surfaces are made by the graphic engine, while the physics engine brings some never-before-seen aspects of cars like tyre flat spots, heat cycles that include graining and blistering, very advanced aerodynamic simulation with active movable aerodynamics parts controlled in real time by telemetry input channels, and hybrid systems with kers and energy recovery simulation. Assetto Corsa offers both an excellent single player and multiplayer experience with exclusively licensed cars that were made as accurately as possible with the cooperation of Car Manufacturers. The game's aim to make everything realistic doesn't stop with cars, as the circuits on which you will be racing were developed with the use of Laser scan technology to make them as close to real world motor racing environments as possible. Some of these track include Monza, Silverstone, Imola, Mugello, Spa, Brands Hatch and so on. Some of the officially licensed contents are the Abarth, Audi, BMW, Classic Team Lotus, Ferrari, KTM, Lamborghini, Lotus cars, McLaren, Mercedes, Scuderia Glickenhaus, Pagani, Porsche, Tatuus, and so on. Assetto Corsa can be played on the keyboard, joypad, joystick, steering wheels (can be a professional device or the most common motion system), and it's also compatible with the triple monitor view, Track IR, 3D VISION and VR (still WIP). Assetto Corsa's single player and multiplayer modes are fully customizable, with quick races, race weekends, qualifying sessions, drag racing, drift challenges, and there's even a career mode. The setup options are immensely detailed as you can even set light conditions to be the same as on the real tracks by turning on an option that calculates the sun's position in real time depending on the geographical coordinates of the track and by the sun curve calculated by time and date. Assetto Corsa offers huge amounts of customization and modification to satisfy every type of player, whether they're a professional simracer or a hobbyist who likes to make their own tracks and cars by using the editing tools that were also used by the developers.

Assetto Corsa is a triumph in driving simulation with a phenomenal physics model and precise force feedback. Laser-scanned tracks and detailed vehicle interiors ensure realism, but the AI can be problematic and the career mode is limited. Strong in pure driving, weaker in additional features. Perfect for simulation enthusiasts, demanding for beginners. My rating: 4/5
