What would you do if the world as you know it was about to disappear forever? That's exactly what Lost Sphear, an old-school RPG directed by Tokyo RPG Factory, the studio behind the excellent I am Setsuna, is going to face.
Lost Sphear takes you straight into a world that is falling apart, and to save it, your memory will be your only ally. You play as Kanata, a young man living in a small village called Elgarthe. Until then, Kanata's role was to protect Elgarthe from nearby monsters, But his fate will change after a horrible nightmare submerged in a background of apocalypse. Our young Kanata will quickly realize that his world is threatened and that he will have to fight to save it. Indeed, little by little pieces of the world are disappearing to leave room for empty space. But the young man has the power to control memories, and now all hopes rest on him.

Lost Sphear offers a classic RPG gameplay that will delight the fans of the genre. You will not be alone with Kanata, as you will be able to form a team composed of four characters. Thus, you will meet, among others, Locke, a very young boy expert in remote weapons; Van, a mysterious man that controls with magic strange projectiles called "particles"; or Sherra, a priestess wielding the bow and using healing magic. You will be able to move your characters on a world map to continue your quests while encountering enemies. The fights use the ATB system. Although it could look simplistic, you still need to ensure the positioning of your team to be able to hit multiple enemies in one attack, but also to avoid some zone damage for example. Of course, the difficulty will go up a notch when you face bosses, but you can always count on exomechs, old mechanical armors from a lost civilization. The exomechs will get more power during the fighting, exacerbating your skills. They may also be useful for other tasks.
Finally, as in Lost Sphear memories are the key to your salvation, you will find souvenir crystals during your adventures. These crystals will be essential to you because, combined with the power of Kanata, they will allow you to reconstitute the pieces of the world which would have disappeared..

Do not wait any longer to keep Elgarthe from being forgotten, Lost Sphear is waiting for you!

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the 'Memories' system to restore a city's landscape after it has been lost, even if I haven't fully explored the area?
No, you must have visited and partially explored a location before its Memories can be used to restore it. The game tracks your exploration progress.
How does the consumption of 'Memories' impact the gameplay, and are there any penalties for using them extensively?
Using Memories is essential for progression, but the game doesn't impose penalties for doing so. The challenge lies in acquiring the necessary Memories and strategically deciding where to use them to advance the storyline and unlock new areas.
If a character is 'lost', and I have the required Memories, can I restore them to the party immediately, or is there a specific process?
Characters are not directly restored via the 'Memories' system. Instead, the game's narrative will guide the player on how to restore a lost character.
Do different types of 'Memories' offer different benefits when restoring locations, or do they all function the same way?
All 'Memories' contribute to restoring areas, but the type of Memories affects the stats and skills you gain in the restored area. The type of Memories is important for customizing your party.
Can I revisit areas that have been fully restored, and are there any benefits to doing so?
Yes, you can revisit restored areas. Re-exploring areas may reveal new resources, side quests, or enhanced enemy encounters.
How does the 'Vulcano' system, which allows the use of 'Kinetic Arts' in battle, interact with the 'Memories' system?
The 'Vulcano' system is independent of the 'Memories' system. 'Vulcano' enhances your combat abilities, while 'Memories' restores the world.
Is there a limit to the number of 'Memories' I can hold, or can I collect an unlimited amount?
There is no explicit limit to the number of Memories you can hold, encouraging exploration to find as many Memories as possible to help restore the world.
Do I have to fully restore an area before I can proceed with the story, or can I choose to leave areas partially restored?
The game allows you to partially restore areas and then revisit them later. However, certain story progression is tied to restoring specific locations.
How do I acquire more 'Memories' throughout the game, and what are some of the key ways to find them?
Memories are acquired through various means: defeating specific enemies, discovering hidden locations, completing side quests, and progressing through the main storyline.
Does the type of Memories I consume impact the visual design or aesthetics of the restored locations, or is the design pre-determined?
The aesthetics of restored locations are generally pre-determined, however, the type of Memories can indirectly impact the assets you'll find.
