WoW Forever: Everything We Know Before Launch

World of Warcraft: Forever is preparing to bring a fresh experience to Azeroth, launching on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM PST, as confirmed by Blizzard's official announcement. Revealed during BlizzCon 2026, the project is shaping up to be the Classic+ experience many longtime fans have wanted, combining the foundations of Vanilla WoW with original content and long-term progression. Unlike traditional expansions, World of Warcraft: Forever takes the original game in a new direction while retaining its level-60 cap.

A New Adventure Built Around Classic WoW

Blizzard plans to expand the familiar world with new regions, including Mount Hyjal, more than 1,000 quests, nine dungeons, and two raids. The experience also introduces the Skyborne Elves, a new playable race that can join either the Alliance or Horde. Existing races will receive additional class combinations, while redesigned talents and progression systems aim to create more viable character builds without losing the distinct identity of Classic classes.

Several gameplay improvements will also change how players explore Azeroth. The new Camping system allows adventurers to establish camps for resting, repairing equipment, accessing vendors, and using profession-related services. Professions are receiving additional importance through more than 600 new recipes, while the Legacy System introduces account-wide progression rewards for completing different challenges.

Blizzard has also surveyed players about 11 potential class concepts, including Monk, Demon Hunter, Death Knight, Tinker, Bard, Illusionist, Necromancer, Rune Knight, Warden, Witch, and San'layn. However, these ideas remain possibilities rather than confirmed launch features.
