Warcraft III Gets a Brand-New Forsaken Campaign

Warcraft III Forsaken Kingdom: New Campaign Returns to Lordaeron
Gameplay

After more than two decades, Warcraft III: Reforged is expanding its story with Forsaken Kingdom, a brand-new campaign exploring one of the most important gaps in Warcraft lore. Set after the fall of Lordaeron, the campaign follows Sylvanas Windrunner and the newly formed Forsaken as they struggle to survive, establish their new society, and confront the dangers surrounding their ruined homeland.

A New Chapter in Sylvanas and the Forsaken’s Story

The campaign begins with The Last Days of Lordaeron, a four-mission prologue covering the aftermath of Arthas' devastating campaign. Players then enter Forsaken Kingdom, which takes inspiration from the RPG-focused Rexxar campaign in The Frozen Throne. Instead of relying entirely on traditional linear missions, the new campaign features larger explorable areas, optional objectives, character progression, equipment, inventories, and talent choices. Familiar locations such as Stratholme and the Undercity are also reimagined with more detailed environments and atmospheric effects.

New Campaign Mechanics Give Warcraft III a Fresh Experience

Gameplay also introduces new possibilities for the Forsaken. One of the most unusual additions is the Forsaken Paladin, an undead hero who can wield the Light. His abilities combine healing, defensive support, crowd control, and offensive effects, creating a distinctive hero that challenges some of Warcraft's traditional assumptions about the relationship between undeath and the Holy Light. Alongside new mechanics, Patch 3.0 also expands Warcraft III: Reforged's broader technical foundation, including increased unit selection limits and improvements to the World Editor.

For longtime Warcraft fans, Forsaken Kingdom is more than another campaign. It fills in the missing chapter between Warcraft III: Reforged's fall of Lordaeron and the rise of the Forsaken in World of Warcraft, giving players a chance to experience Sylvanas' transformation and the early history of her undead faction firsthand. With World of Warcraft: Forever continuing the timeline, this campaign could become an important bridge between Warcraft's classic era and its next chapter. Ready to return to Lordaeron?

A new Warcraft III campaign after more than 20 years is something I definitely didn't expect! Returning to Lordaeron and seeing the origins of the Forsaken and Undercity makes this feel like a really interesting addition to the Warcraft story. It's great to see this classic RTS getting new content again.

But yeah, when we are talking warcraft 3, reforged or not, every1 knows its all about the custom games, idk what this dlc will bring to that
