Wasteland 3 will have a co-op mode

InXile Entertainment is adding more features than we expected to Wasteland 3. Most of us thought that the new installment in the Wasteland series was going to be more or less a modern version of the game from 2014 with a new story, but it seems that the new game is going to be far more complex than Wasteland 2 and that it's going to offer a lot of new possibilities when it comes to gameplay.

Wasteland 3 will feature a co-op mode for two players. In the game, both players control a squad of rangers formed by 6 characters and they will be able to customize them when they start their game, as well as decide who will control each of them. These characters do not need to be split evenly among the two players, and it's possible for a player to choose to control just one or two of them. Whatever they choose, both players can take on the game together, but the saves will be independent for each of them. That means that you can continue playing Wasteland 3 without your friend later if you want or even invite another friend to your game, who will be able to continue playing the game by themselves from your progression point if they want.

As you can see, this new gameplay mode adds a completely new dimension to a game that is not exactly your typical squad-based role-playing game anymore. Wasteland 3 will be available on PC and Xbox One, and you might be wondering if there will be cross-play between both platforms. Sadly, the answer is no. You will be stuck playing with other people that use your same platform. If you have a friend that also loves Wasteland and you are thinking of playing together you might want to keep that in mind before visiting our comparator to find the best price for Wasteland 3.
