Legacy of the Bloodmoon Arrives in Vampire Survivors This Summer

Developer and publisher poncle has officially unveiled Legacy of the Bloodmoon, a brand-new expansion for the hit roguelike phenomenon Vampire Survivors. Revealed during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, the DLC is scheduled to launch this summer across all platforms where Vampire Survivors is available.

A plethora of new characters

According to poncle, Legacy of the Bloodmoon began life as a small addition to the fan-favorite Legacy of the Moonspell expansion. However, as development progressed, the project expanded far beyond its original scope, ultimately becoming a full standalone DLC. Creator Luca Galante described the expansion as another example of a modest idea growing into something much larger than initially planned.

Set against a dark new storyline, Legacy of the Bloodmoon introduces players to the legend of Saint Baal'Thasar and the mysterious Order of the Red Moon, a cult founded after a prophetic vision of a paradise illuminated by a crimson moon. According to the in-game myth, Baal'Thasar vanished during a pilgrimage in search of this promised land, never to return.

The expansion marks a return to original Vampire Survivors lore following several high-profile crossover releases and the arrival of a new take on the franchise, Vampire Crawlers, which offers a different approach to gameplay.
